Julieann Streff Reif, 80, of Salem passed away November 13, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral mass will begin at 1 pm on Friday, November 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salem. There will be a prayer service at 7 pm on Thursday evening at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.
Juliann Streff was born September 19, 1940 in California to Gregory and Grace (Knepper) Streff. She grew up in California and on November 24, 1962 she married Jerome Reif in Sepulveda, CA. They lived there for 6 months and then moved to Salem, SD where she lived the rest of her life. Jim passed away in April of 2020.
Julieann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Christian Mothers and Altar Society. She led many rosaries for funerals and wakes and served as president of the Christian Mothers. She was also a very active member of the Red Hatters and was the "Queen Mum". Julieann enjoyed baking and decorating birthday cakes, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She and Jim also spent a lot of time traveling and camping. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by: her children, Grace (Neil) Norton of Aberdeen, James (Gina) Reif of Brandon, Jerry (DeAnn) Reif of Aberdeen, Rozanna (Roger) Casanova of Aberdeen, Jason (Denise) Reif of Stratford, Joy (William) Perkins of Sioux Falls and Julian Reif of Salem; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Colleen (Chet) Hersey of Puyallup, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, Douglas, and an infant child, Marion. www.kinzleyfh.com
