Julie Earlene (Janes) Ivers, age 66 of rural Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 23, 1956 the daughter of E.L. and Nancy (Ellis) Janes.
On December 6, 1975, Julie married Dennis Ivers, and he survives.
She was a 1974 graduate of Lawrenceville High School, graduate of Wabash Valley College, and a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. She worked in the social services field and assisted with the Ivers family farming operation for many years.
Julie was a member of the St. Francisville Christian Church and a 32-year member of the St. Francisville Women's Club serving as club president, district officer, and vice president of the Southern Region. She served on the Unit 20 School Board and as a Denison Township Clerk. Julie enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, helping others, and spent many hours volunteering.
Surviving relatives include: her husband of 46 years- Dennis Ivers: two sons- Garrett Ivers and wife Katie and Reese Ivers and wife Bethany: seven grandchildren- Eli, Layton, Emery, Reagan, Sienna, Eva, and Tripp: two sisters-Sandra Bertucci and husband Tom of Nauvoo, IL and Ellarie Haisten and husband Trey of Oakridge, TN: two brothers- Scott Janes and wife Sherri of Buchanan, MI and Ross Janes and wife Christina of Myrtle Beach, SC: and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws.
A visitation was held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Christian Church of St. Francisville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday also at the church. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
