Julia M. Skinner, formerly of Wilmington, passed away at Country Rest Home, on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Josephine and Frank Moderacki, Sr.
Mrs. Skinner graduated from Wilmington High School in 1949, she continued to join her alumni at their regular luncheons over the years. After graduating, Mrs. Skinner became a medical transcriptionist.
Mrs. Skinner was a quiet observer who loved being in the midst of her family. She was often host to dinner, parties, or any family gatherings. Mrs. Skinner liked to be physically and mentally active, she enjoyed walking, yoga, reading, scrabble, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She even did the daily newspaper crossword puzzle. In the '90s, she really enjoyed working with her son, Gene, researching genealogy, and interviewing distant relatives. Mrs. Skinner enjoyed watching Philadelphia Phillies with her deeply devoted late husband of 69 years, S. Eugene Skinner. She will always be remembered as the soft spoken, loving wife, mother, grandmother with an amazing heart and the warmest smile.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Skinner is preceded in death by her husband S. Eugene Skinner; brothers, Frank Moderacki Jr. and George Moderacki.
Mrs. Skinner is survived by her children, Eugene Skinner (Marilyn), Susan Driver, Carolyn Morris; grandchildren, Albert Driver, Christopher Skinner, Terry Morris, Alex Morris; great grandchildren, Keira Morris and Erik Skinner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark DE at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow immediately after at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington DE.
