Julia Ann Prue Ricketts was born on November 19, 1935, in Pawhuska, OK. She passed to our Heavenly Father on February 20, 2021, in Boerne, TX. Julia graduated from Oklahoma State University and remained an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She taught school in Oklahoma from 1958 until the birth of her only child Charles B. Ricketts in 1968. During her absence from teaching she filled her time as a stay at home mom and volunteered in various organizations such as the Junior League and her local church.
In 1991, after settling in Boerne, Texas, Julia decided to return to teaching and began teaching for Boerne ISD. In 2001, she retired from Fabra Elementary as a second grade teacher. After retiring, Julia enjoyed spending time with her son, Charles B. Ricketts; daughter-in-law Regina DeSimone-Ricketts; her three grandchildren: John Ross DeSimone, Charles Ryan Ricketts, and Faith BeaAnn Ricketts; and her godson, Chad Kyle. She also traveled and became an active member of the Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place, volunteering and serving on their site council.
Julia is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Julia Beggs Prue; father, Charles Frank Prue; and sister, Marcia Keele.
Visitation with recitation of Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. The Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. Donations may be made to Kronkosky Place at 17 Old San Antonio Road, Boerne, TX 78006.
