Judith Ann "Judy" Kitchens Wertz, 80, entered the gates of Heaven Saturday, November 9, 2024, escorted by the hand of our Lord Jesus.
Born in Greenwood County and a daughter of the late Isaac Bubba Kitchens and Sara Katherine Hastings Wood, she was the wife of Advil Duprea "A.D." Wertz, Jr. Mrs. Wertz was retired from Grimes Aero Space and attended Good Hope Baptist Church. Her greatest pleasures in life included reading, fishing, time spent with her family and enjoying the outdoors in her swing.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, a daughter, Bunny Wertz Coker (Frankie) of Chappells, son, Advil Clay Wertz (Sally) of Ninety-Six, a sister, Patricia Williams of Ninety-Six, three grandchildren, Kayla Black (Ryan), Carley Coker and Summer Wertz, six great-grandchildren, Kirk McGee, Tripp McGee, Kabe McGee, Colton Black, Presley Black and Kitty Gardziel and her beloved furry companion, Pea Pea.
Mrs. Wertz was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Williams and a granddaughter, Whitney Goldman McGee (Kasey).
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Going officiating. Interment will follow in Mayson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
