Judy Kay (Moon) Green, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister,
aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away in her sleep on March 15, 2024, at her home
in Seymour. Born on May 14, 1961, to Mary Jane Hatfield and Emmett Moon, Judy
touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
Judy is survived by her devoted companion, Jim Maness of Scipio, her loving children,
Annie Green (Jason Hurtt) of Seymour and Tim Green (Wesley Webb) of Columbus,
along with her cherished grandchildren: Jazlynn Williams of Indianapolis, Thalia Garcia,
Blake Garcia, and Jace Garcia of Seymour, and her adored great-grandchildren, Nala
and Josiah Alexander of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Lottie)
Moon of Napoleon, sisters Peggy (Jim) Day of North Vernon, and Cathy Moon of
Menifee, California, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved so
deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Timothy Moon,
Tonya Moore and Cynthia Kessler.
A 1978 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School, a proud member of the American Legion,
and a retiree of Bob Poynter Chevrolet, Judy was known far and wide for her warm and
welcoming personality. She had a gift for making connections, and it seemed she knew
everyone, and everyone knew her. Judy found joy in life's simple pleasures, from fishing
trips and summertime bonfires with roasting marshmallows and hot dogs to baking
sweet treats from her mother's recipe box and counting the snowflakes as they fell to
the ground in winter. She loved being outside tending to her flower beds and shared a
special bond with her two treasured dogs, Daisy and Gizmo.
Judy's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for
her rambunctious demeanor, unwavering love, and the countless laughs she shared
with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jackson County
Humane Society, in Judy's honor.
