Judy Jackson was called by her Savior on Monday, January 14, 2019 after a long illness.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, at the Buffalo Gap Church of Christ, Buffalo Gap, Texas, 741 Litel St. The family encourages memorial donations to their local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org).
Judy was born Judy Kay Ray on October 23, 1941, the second child of J.K. and Louise Ray, in San Angelo. She graduated in the very first senior class at the new San Angelo Central High School in 1959. Judy and Charlie Jackson of Ballinger were married 50 years and raised three children in San Angelo.
Judy loved to hum as she was sewing or crocheting. She loved being a grandmother and her grandchildren would spend hours with their "Nana". In 1988 she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, yet even with chronic pain, she never wanted to be a burden and was truly loved by other residents and staff at Mesa Springs Nursing Home, where she spent the past ten years. It did not matter how she felt, she'd always find time to watch the Wheel of Fortune and tell everyone who to vote for on Who's Got Talent. More recently, all it took was twice-per-week Bingo games and a Dr. Pepper to make her happy.
Judy is survived by many relatives, including her sister Linda Roberts of Lubbock, Lonnie Ray of Georgetown, and Jeanie Reynolds of Georgetown; her children James K. Jackson of San Angelo, Rodney Jackson of San Diego, CA, and Angela Jones of Buffalo Gap, who spent countless hours running errands and caring for Judy; Judy is also survived by seven grandchildren; Brittany Urbanich of Aurora CO, USMC Corporal Jeffrey Desrosiers, stationed at Kings Bay, GA, Courtney Jackson and Caleb Jackson of San Diego, CA, Kaylee Astwood of Midland, Brandon Jones of Abilene, and Malory Jones of San Antonio.; and five great grand-children.
