Judith T. Sunbury of Plainville passed into eternal rest on January 19, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Herbert Sunbury.
Judy was born on January 9, 1941 to the late James and Victoria (Dagenais) Tufts. She
graduated from Plainville High School in 1959. Judy was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked at New Britain General Hospital from where she retired in 2004 after many years of service.
In 1963, she met the love of her life, Herb, and in 1964 started a beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter, dances and playing cards with her siblings, bowling, traveling to Myrtle Beach, and precious time with family. Judy was an outgoing, warm, loving person who befriended everyone she met. She spent much of her time crocheting, calling to check on family and friends, and baking her famous brownies to bring to any occasion. The outpouring of love during her short illness is a true testament to her devotion to family and friends and her impact on this world. She will truly be missed, but her spirit will live on through all who met her.
Judy leaves her daughter, Karen Sciota and her husband, Mark, of Southington, her son,
Scott Sunbury and his wife, Kristi, of Fort Mill, S.C., her grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Sciota and Madeline and Jackson Sunbury. Judy also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Olmstead, brother, Charles Tufts and sister-in law, Maria, and sister-in-law, Laurene Tufts. Judy was predeceased by her twin brother, James Tufts and brother-in-law, L. Bruce Olmstead. She also leaves her sisters in law, Marguerite and Dorothy Sunbury and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Judy's family would like to express sincere gratitude for the care and compassion shown
by Hartford Healthcare Hospice, Independence at Home, and Companions and Homemakers.
