Judith Gernell Carter Pendergrass

Judith Gernell Carter Pendergrass, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, died August 31, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Judy was born March 29, 1944 in Statesville, North Carolina.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She especially loved her time with children. From her 30+ years as a teacher's assistant at Hidden Valley Elementary School to her countless years of teaching children at Mountain Island Church of Christ to whenever she could open her doors to the children of her neighborhood. Most of all she loved her grandchildren. The 20 years of being a grandmother, she delighted in doing whatever they would even hope to enjoy.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmy Dale Pendergrass, her daughter Samantha Dale Pendergrass, her son Commie Lawrence Pendergrass (Collette) and her grandchildren Garrison Dale and Cameron Elizabeth Pendergrass, her Mother, Margaret Payne Carter, her sister, Sandra Carter Josey, her brother Lonnie Dennis Carter and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, Lawrence Lowtharpe Carter and her brother, Larry Lawrence Carter.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Mountain Island Church of Christ on September 4, 2021 at 11 am. Family visitation will be held at 10 am at the same location.
