Judith "Judy" S. Patterson, of Stuart, FL, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones under the tender loving care of Treasure Coast Hospice.
Judy was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1926 to Charles and Catherine Scheirer. After graduating from Temple University, Judy joined the Air Force, serving for twenty years in locations around the world, including Germany, Japan, and the Philippines, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Early in her Air Force career, in Japan, she met and married an Air Force surgeon, the love of her life, Patt Patterson. They were married for fifty years until Patt's death in 2010.
Judy was a serious hunter. She loved her hunting dogs, and was a breeder and trainer of German shorthairs. In retirement, Patt and Judy lived in the Yacht and County Club of Stuart for 40 years where they were active members of the community. Judy was an avid golfer, and Patt served a term as Commodore of the Yacht club. She always looked forward to trivia night with her dear friends. An accomplished singer, Judy remembered and would sing for you songs from her beloved old time movies.
Judy is survived by her stepson Robert Patterson and his wife Gigi of Phoenix, AZ and stepdaughter Victoria Goodrum of Prescott, AZ, five step-grandchildren, loving friends and caregivers Anamaria and Marius Albu, and Erna and Rich Friedel, as well as many friends all over the world. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Lieutenant General Robert A. "Patt" Patterson, USAF(Ret) and her four brothers, Charles, Homer, Donald, and Lynn Scheirer.
A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2450 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:00 am. A military funeral will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date where Judy will be reunited with her beloved "Patt".
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in loving memory of Judy can be made to Molly's House in Stuart, Florida.
