On January 30th, 2022 Judith (Judy) Combs passed away at the age of 82. She is survived by her son Dr. W. Bradford Combs and fianc?e Jennifer Sartoris of Aiken, SC, daughter Susan Combs Heil and son-in-law Todd Heil of Greensboro, Ga. Her loving husband of 57 years, Bill Combs, her parents and her brother preceded her in death.
Judy was born October 19th, 1939 to George William Zitelman and Laura Boldt Zitelman in Neenah, WI. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Carroll College and an MA from Bradley University in 1962. She served as a psychologist for Peoria State Hospital in Peoria, IL as well as St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Before establishing a private practice in 1985 in Peoria, IL, she also served as Director of the Tazwood Center - Human Services in Eureka, IL. She was the recipient of the Dr. Walter Baer Award in 1984 for Outstanding Service in Mental Health. She also served as the President of the Board of Directors Mental Health Association of Illinois Valley for 3 years.
Judy and Bill retired to Aiken, SC and spent 20 years enjoying the wonderful weather of the South and many great friends. She worked for 14 years at Brad's Chiropractic Office before officially retiring in 2019 to spend more time with Bill and her animals. She had recently moved to Greensboro, GA to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.
There will be no service per the family's wishes.
