Judith "Judi" Dianne Gundersen (Joiner) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 82 in Everett, WA.
Born on September 14, 1942 in Tampa, Florida, to Paul and Ginny Joiner, Judi's adventurous spirit took root early. At the age of four, her family moved to Washington, where Judi would grow up, make lifelong friends, and create cherished memories. She was known for her competitive love of card games, a passion that began in childhood and remained a central joy throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Mount Vernon High School's Class of 1960, Judi spent a year at Washington State University in Pullman before moving to Seattle, where she graduated from Peterson's Business School. She went on to build a successful career as a travel agent, combining her love for adventure and her sharp attention to detail, which helped countless clients explore the world.
Judi's love for the Seattle Mariners was legendary. She spent countless evenings watching games and exchanging texts with friends and grandchildren about every play and score. True to form, one of her final thoughts before passing was to ask if her beloved Mariners had won their latest game (and they had). In addition to baseball, Judi found joy in cooking and playing card games, especially a satisfying round of computer solitaire.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ginny Joiner. She is survived by her family: daughter Darcie (Mike) Bagott of Palouse, WA, son Jeff (Stacy) Gundersen of Bow, WA, and her grandchildren Quincy (Dan) Gochenour of Casper, WY, Rylee Gundersen of Casper, WY, Emily Bagott of Spokane, WA, and Johnny Gundersen of Bow, WA. She is also survived by her sister Jeanne (David) Moussette of Seattle, WA, and niece Susan Moussette of Seattle, WA.
In keeping with Judi's wishes, there will be no formal service. The family invites those who knew and loved her to think of her whenever you cheer on the Mariners?knowing she's right there, celebrating each victory.
