Juanita "Janie" Perez, age 69, of Muleshoe, Texas died Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born November 18, 1953 in Mercedes, Texas to Domingo and Domitila (Gonzalez) Loya. She married Ramon Perez in Mercedes in June of 1988.
Janie was a CNA at Park View Nursing Care Center in Muleshoe. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She was the family clown. Janie made the best menudo and tamales, and enjoyed gardening, even winning Garden of the Week in 2019. She loved to fish and watch cartoons, especially Sponge Bob and the Minions. She was an avid gambler, playing Loteria by herself and going to Hobbs. Janie loved her kids and grandkids unconditionally and was the best mother. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Domingo Loya Jr. and Roman Loya.
Janie is survived by her husband, Ramon; her four sons, Ramon Sanchez Jr. and Anita Altamirano of Mercedes, Texas, Oscar Sanchez and his wife, Illiana of Basehor, Kansas, Marcos Garcia of Mercedes, Texas and Ramon Garcia Jr. of Mercedes, Texas; her four daughters, Mary Jane Sanchez and Ernesto Bustillos Jr. of Muleshoe, Texas, Angelica Garcia of Mercedes, Texas, Blanca Garcia of Mercedes, Texas and Jessica Garcia and her husband, Manuel of Mercedes, Texas; her five sisters, Evangelina Hernandez of Mercedes, Texas, Berta Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Beatrice Cantu of Mercedes, Texas, Mary David of Rogers, Arkansas and Sandra Sauceda and her husband, Rolando of Mercedes, Texas; her three brothers, Susano Loya and his wife, Guadalupe of Mercedes, Texas, Joey Loya and his wife, Sevy of Magnolia, Texas and JoJo Loya and his wife, Patti of Danbury, Texas; her eighteen grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren.
