Juanita (Lyon) Chambless, age 90, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Morristown Manor - Cypress Run. She was born in Lindale, Texas on November 16, 1929 to Henry Grady and Francis Elizabeth (Kennedy) Lyon. She graduated from Lindale High School and received her associates degree from Tyler Business School in Texas. Juanita married Randall E. Chambless on May 7, 1955 in Lindale, Texas.
She spent her career working for Major Electric, Little Construction Co, and most recently Fiscal Tax until officially retiring in 2011. Juanita was a previous member of Northside Christian Church and a current member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Greenfield. She was very active within Hancock County Senior Services. Juanita was a very strong woman of faith and enjoyed participating in Bible study groups. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Juanita is survived by her children, Rhonda Burton of Greenfield, Belvia (Todd) Schultz of Kansas, Vicki (Ed) Stage of Carmel; step-daughter, Judy (Dennis) Martin of Texas; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Jenni) Burton, Aaron (Jacqueline) Burton, Kyle (Leah) Burton, Taylor (Alex Vincent) Clossin, Zach Clossin, Eddie (Madi) Stage, Sam Stage and Teresa Schultz. 6 great-grandchildren, Joey Burton, Jack Burton, Harrison Burton, Trip Burton, Finn Stage, and Isaac Sanabria; and a sister, Ernestine Whipple of Paris, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Francis Lyon; first husband, Randall Chambless; second husband, Kenneth Cox; son-in-law, Michael Burton, Sr.; two brothers; and five sisters.
A private family burial will take place at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Joe Riggs will be officiating.
