Joyce Marie Tarver Walker - age 73 of Corryton passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at UT Medical Center. She was a 5th Generation resident of Corryton, TN. Before her career as a homemaker and caregiver for her family, Joyce attended Carter High School and worked at Standard Knitting Mill, Carrier, and House Mountain Market. She enjoyed working in her garden, board games, long car rides with her family, and listening to Elvis. Joyce was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Bertie Tarver; parents-in-law, Smith and Bernice Walker; sisters, Irene (Verlin) Donehew, Pauline (L.C.) Haynes, Carolyn (Dennis) Pruett; brothers, J.C. Tarver, Alfred Tarver, Fred Tarver, Johnny Tarver; sister-in-law, Mildred Tarver; brothers-in-law, Robert Colgate, Sidney Longmire, Thomas (Ann) Walker, Tony Jennings, Charles Foster; niece, Diane (Billy) Shipe; nephews, James Donehew, Tony Tarver; and great niece, Lori Shipe. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Walker; daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Larsen, Stephanie Walker; granddaughter, Cathryn Larsen; sisters, JoAnn Colgate, Mary Longmire; Brothers Jim Tarver, Herb (Jean) Tarver; sisters-in-law, Ellamae Tarver, Carolyn Foster; and many loving nieces, nephews, and their families. The family would like to thank the wonderful care of the Palliative Team at UT. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 8, 2022, followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM. The interment will be 2:00 PM on Saturday at Lenoir City Cemetery.
