Joyce Anne Shuman Smith, formerly of Meadville and Erie, passed away on October 29th, with loved ones by her side at her home in Clearwater Beach, FL. Joyce is reunited with Thomas Wilson Smith, Sr., her beloved husband of 54 years. Joyce is survived by her four loving children: Todd Davis (Lauren) of Scottsdale, AZ; Tamara Haverfield (Gary) Mansfield, OH, Tracey Morrison, Columbus, OH and Tom Jr., Little Rock, AR; her grandchildren: Erika and Kyle (Todd); Alyssa and Connor (Tammy); Spencer and Sean (Tracey) and Hayden, Sullivan, Addison and Harrison. (Tommy); and a great granddaughter, Ripley (Kyle). Surviving also are Joyce's sisters: Beth Elway of Vero Beach, FL; Fran Rogers of Meadville, PA, and Ruthie Frederick of Gulf Breeze, FL; and brother Benjamin Shuman of West Hickory, PA along with numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, from both the Shuman and Smith clans who all treasured Joyce. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Gladys Shuman, her sister, Donna Elston and granddaughter Stormi Morrison. Before retiring to Florida, Joyce was the long-time office manager of the Thermoclad Co. in Erie. In Florida she became active in several women's groups and bridge clubs. She was a wizard at bridge, playing regularly until several months ago. She and Tom loved to travel throughout the US and around the world. She also read voraciously in her spare time. The family hopes that those who knew and loved Joyce will cherish their memories of Mom. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite cause in memory of Joyce. The family has scheduled a memorial service at Clearwater's Chapel by the Sea for Saturday, November 19th at 11:00.
