Frances Joyce Krenzin age 88, of Rockwall Texas, passed away in the early morning of February 4, 2021, after suffering a stroke. She was born to Frank Earl & Helen (Smith) Williams in Willcox, Arizona on November 2, 1932. Joyce & her younger sister, Eulalie "Cooky" moved with their mother to El Paso, Texas in 1935 where they lived with their grandmother, Helen (Hargrove) Smith. In 1950 her mother Helen married El Paso pharmacist Elmer Joe Case, who was a positive influence on the extended family for over fifty years. In November of 1952, Joyce married David Bruce Smith IV in El Paso. There the couple welcomed sons David Bruce V, "D.B." & Joseph Case "Casey" Smith. In 1969 the family moved from El Paso, Texas to Colorado Springs, Colorado, & following the death of her husband D.B. in July of 1973, Joyce remained in the Colorado Springs area. She continued to teach at Pikes Peak Community College where she met her current husband, Michael D. Krenzin. They married on October 17, 1981. During their time together, Mike & Joyce developed a lasting familial relationship with their "adopted" family, the Cragos: Rhode, Elda, Patrick & Eric. Cremation has taken place & a celebration of life for Joyce will take place at a date & time yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be directed to any organization addressing stroke prevention or subsequent care.
