Joyce Evelyn Rankin, 69, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Rankin was born June 20, 1951, in Linton, Indiana, the loving daughter of Loren L. and Irene T. (Goodman) Bedwell. On July 1, 1972, Joyce married Kenny L. Rankin; he survives.
A homemaker, Joyce was a member of the Bible Church of Columbus. Joyce enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and hosting holiday celebrations. She loved spending time with her husband, Kenny, especially antique shopping. She was a devoted Christian and always looked forward to her daily devotions and prayer time.
Joyce was always so excited when she attended her grandchildren's sporting events, she was definitely their biggest fan! She was very crafty and loved doing projects for her home, family and friends. Joyce treasured her work experience at Heart and Home, where she developed lifelong friendships.
Mrs. Rankin is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenny; her mother, Irene Bedwell of Sullivan, Indiana; sons, Nate (Lana) Rankin, Ryan Rankin and Kevin (Alicia) Rankin all of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Coleden Hoeltke, Landen Hoeltke, Wade Rankin and Whitley Rankin; and sisters, Gayle (Jim) Meece of Rockville, Indiana and Deanna Winans of Hilliard, Ohio.
Mrs. Rankin was preceded in death by her father, Loren L. Bedwell.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington Street in Columbus; the Reverend Dave Marvin will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
Mrs. Rankin will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery.
