It is with great sadness that the family of Minnie Joyce Allred Peters, Joyce, Beloved mother, mamaw, and sister, announces her passing.
Minnie Joyce Allred Peters, 79, of Myrtle, Mississippi passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, after an extended illness. Joyce was born July 8, 1945 in Union County to Hugh Thomas and Dessie Lee Sanford Allred. She went to school at Tippah-Union School. She was the seventh sibling of ten. In years passed, she enjoyed gathering at her parents with all her siblings, their children, their grands, as well as hers, playing rook around the table after lunch and a good softball game in the pasture. She spent several years babysitting. She also worked at Benchcraft as well as 30 years with her cleaning business along with her daughter. She was a hard worker and even after health forced her to retire she still wanted to work.
She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. She loved to laugh. She truly loved people and had one of the biggest caring and loving hearts. She loved her family with all her heart and will be greatly missed by each of them.
She was married to the love of her life, Ricky Peters, for 32 years. They shared a home in Baldwyn, Mississippi until his passing in 2023, to which then she moved back to Union County to be with family. She enjoyed traveling all over with her husband Ricky. She, also, enjoyed their beach trips with daughters and grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family. She had a great love for dogs especially her Ellie (8 years) and recently added puppy Toby. She was a member of Moss Hill Baptist Church for many years. Her loving, kind, spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Peters; her parents; brothers, Hughlon, Larry "Smiley", Bobby, and Randy Allred, and sister Ruth Russell.
She is survived by daughters Vickie Baker (Marty) and Dana Glidewell (Glenn), Granddaughters Cortney Ausburn (Chad), Anna Hood (Aaron), and Abby Blassingame, and Heather Baker Sanders (Adam), one grandson Andy Baker, and 5 great grandchildren Maddie, Jase, and Gabe Ausburn and Archie and Arlen Hood, Sister Margie Adair, Brothers David Allred (Reta), Benny Allred (Louise), and Danny Hugh Allred (Shelia). As well as her special fur babies Ellie and Toby.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. at United Funeral Services on Wednesday, August 6, 2024 with visitation at United on Tuesday, August 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday. Bro. Mitchell Hall and Bro. Justin Sripling officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Gardens.
