Brentwood, TN - Joyce Williams Doyle, 82, passed away on Monday, August 19th, 2024, in her Tennessee home.
Joyce was born on October 19, 1941, in South Milford, IN, to the late Kenneth and Ruby (Cook) Williams. As the youngest of four siblings, she started Osceola primary school at the age of 5 and graduated from Mishawaka High School at the age of 16, before continuing her education at Goshen College and the Art Institute of Chicago. Joyce always had a plan and could rarely be held back from achieving it.
Joyce was a "Boss" and lived a full life breaking glass ceilings as an Executive in the Recreational Vehicle and Mobile Home industry for 50 years. She was often recognized nationally, serving on various boards and international organizations related to interior design and color marketing.
Joyce was preceded in death by her one and only love and husband, Jack Doyle. They built a life together between Elkhart, Indiana and Ypsilanti, Michigan; both working in the businesses they loved, while also starting a family with the birth of their only son, Ryan Christopher. The three of them settled in the Mishawaka, Indiana home designed by Joyce and built by Jack, giving the three of them stability for the future before Jack's passing. That home would become the foundation to Ryan's upbringing and a welcoming host to so many memories with family members and friends for over 35 years before Joyce moved to Tennessee to be close to her four grandkids.
Joyce was the ultimate giver and party planner and she taught Ryan the definition of family, by the way she treated loved ones near and far. They would frequently host the Williams family holidays and go on epic adventures around the World with her siblings' families. And while it was just the two of them at home, she also surrounded Ryan with an extended family of her best friends, helping raise him with more uncles, aunts and cousins than he could have ever wished for. There was never a shortage of love and laughter.
Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Paul (Dorothy) Williams, her sister, Janet (Jim) Dover and her closest friends JoAnn and Dick Boling.
She is survived by her brother, Lynn (Margaret) Williams of Denver, Colorado and her son, Ryan (Jill) Doyle of Brentwood, Tennessee as well as her four grandchildren; Marissa, Jack, Hunter and Layla.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Morris Park Country Club - 2200 McKinley Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46615.
