Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Joyce was born December 30, 1931, in Lovelady, Texas. Her family moved to Conroe and then to Willis where she graduated from Willis High School in 1950. She married her husband, Dewey Campbell in September of 1950 and they soon moved to Pasadena where they raised their 5 children but eventually found their selves back in Willis in 1975. When Dewey passed in 1986, Joyce found comfort in her work, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Thirteen years later she met a wonderful Christian man, Jim Cain, and they were married in November of 1999. Joyce retired from Willis ISD after 24 years of service and she and Jim spent 21 wonderful years together traveling and enjoying socializing with family and friends.
Joyce and Jim were faithful members of First Baptist Church Willis. They both enjoyed many trips, outings and parties with their "Recycled Teenagers" group.
Joyce is preceded in death by first husband Dewey Campbell Sr., husband James R. Cain, sons Troy and Terry Campbell, Gary Cain, daughters Ronda Campbell and Brenda DeLauro. She leaves behind her son Bo Campbell, Bobby Cain and wife Kathy, Bruce Cain, Dave DiLauro, daughters Mary Wilson & husband Mike, Julie Smith and husband Jim. Grandchildren Jeremy Wessels, Amber Holcombe & husband Richard, Courtney Johnston & husband Fred, Cassie Smolik & husband Josh, Samantha Tharp & husband Kyle, Kelly Kocian & husband Patrick, Baylie Nelson & husband Grant, Stevie Cable, and husband Greg, Jimmy Smith and Brandon Smith. Great grandchildren Nolan, Weston, Wyatt, Waylon, Ella, Kyley, Lilly, Tynley, Elizabeth, Jack and Jaxson.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Willis, 12177 Interstate 45 N, Willis, Texas, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Graveside service and interment will follow at Willis Cemetery.
