Joyce Marie Andrews (nee Hoese), of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on May 20, 2022 at the age of 88. Joyce was born to the late Ward Hoese and Lucille Wales. She was raised on a farm in Niles MI by Ruby and Homer Womble. After graduating high school, she traveled to Chicago where she went on to marry and establish her life. While her greatest pride were her children and family, she also worked at Sears on Lawrence Ave. in the credit department where in the early 70's, when a widow came in to inform her that her husband had passed away, she whispered "honey, just keep the card and use it in his name", as it wasn't until 1974 that a woman could have a credit card in her own name.She was proceeded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Hoese and her former spouse, Sam Andrews.Survivors include her daughter, Diane Joseph (Dr. Ashur) of Riverwoods IL, her sons Andy Andrews (Stephanie) of Chicago, IL; John Andrews (Shannon) of Chicago, IL; Sargon ("Sarge") Andrews (Wendy) of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Nanny": Jonathan (Clair), Lauren, Michael, Melanie, Seth, Megan, and Katie, and honorary grandchildren Kiki and Spencer. Joyce was blessed to live to see two great-grandchildren born, Owen and Kyla. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Hoese, nieces Elizabeth and Holly, and a host of extended family, friends, and caretakers.A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name can be made to the Ravenswood Evangelical Covenant Church of Chicago at www.chicagoaudubon.org (http://www.chicagoaudubon.org).
