Josephine "Jo" Allen Krokos, 82, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Born in 1938 in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Bly and Lurline Hopper Allen of Tennessee. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was retired from a 20-year career in commercial banking at Bank of America in Spartanburg, SC and Charlotte, NC.
Jo was completely devoted to family, and always put them first and supported them in person as much as she was able. She knew her Lord and Savior and delighted in His creation. Her daily life revolved around reading, caring for her plants and flowers, and feeding any creature that entered her yard. After moving to Anderson in 2020, she continued to add new birds to her lifetime list. With a gift for flowers and gardening, her outdoor spaces were "magazine cover quality." She had a particular weakness for cut flowers and her kitchen table was rarely without an arrangement of her design.
Survivors include three daughters, Kimberley K. Baker (Norris) of Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. Kelley J. Krokos of Springfield, VA, and Kristy K. Williamson (Tim) of Belton, SC; three grandchildren, Rachel T. Baker, Kathleen S. Baker, and Calaway L. "Callie" Williamson; niece, Brenda M. Hoff of Prescott, AZ; and a nephew, Mike Miller of Grand Rapids, MI.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Miller.
A memorial service will be held at later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to March of Dimes, Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 18819, Atlanta, GA 31126, or Anderson County P.A.W.S., 1320 Highway 29 South, Anderson, SC 29626.
