Mr. Joseph Simpkins, Jr., 56, of 559 Shiloh Heights Rd, husband of Mrs. Celestine Simpkins, departed this life to return to our Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at MUSC Hospital, Charleston, SC, where he was surrounded with doctors, nurses and loving care from his wife and mother. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Jackson-Brooks Memorial Chapel, Rev. Lester Smalls officiating and Rev. Cathy Patterson, Words of Comfort. (Service will be private.) Joseph was born January 9, 1964. He graduated class of 1982 from Aiken High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Simpkins, Sr., sister Andrea D. Simpkins. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Celestine Carter Simpkins; Mother, Ms. Yvonne H Simpkins; daughter, Marcal Alexander; son, Donald Ray Carter; two brothers, Anthony Simpkins and Antino Pixley; his father and mother-in-law, Willie and Eula Carter; sister-in-law, Sharon Carter; brother-in-law, Curtis Carter.
