September 27, 1988 - April 7, 2021. The family of Joseph Pendleton Rucks, 32, of St Petersburg, Florida celebrates the life of this amazing young man. Joe was a loving son and brother, as well as a kind, loyal friend. He was an avid kayaker and a fierce competitor at soccer, who was most at home outdoors and on the water. He was also a deeply thoughtful soul, who would often surprise his friends and loved ones with unexpected good deeds and gifts, never asking for notoriety. He had a great sense of humor and a gentle strength, and following our Tampa Bay sports teams with close friends was one of his many passions. Joe graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School where he was a standout player on the soccer team. A favorite volunteer project of his was the annual food drive, where he would try to exceed the amount he collected the year before, filling every tiny space in his truck with canned goods. He graduated from Florida State University with a major in business administration, and after college, he pursued a career in banking. Joe is survived by his father, Edward Rucks, and his stepmother, Kathryn Howd, his brother, Samuel Rucks, his stepbrother, Chris Howd, and his grandmother, Betsy Rucks. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cassie Pilkington Rucks. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Feeding Tampa Bay www.feedingtampabay.org. Guestbook @
