Joseph D. Olah

Joseph D. Olah, age 75, of East York, passed away on September 16, 2024 at UPMC Memorial in York. He was the loving husband of Susan J. (Ciulla) Olah; together they shared 42 years of marriage.

Joseph was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on August 17, 1949 and was the son of the late Joseph S. and Grace A. (Ackert) Olah. He was a former member of Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church and a current and active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in York where he served on the church council, and helped run the men's clothing closet and breakfast. Joseph also enjoyed reading, watching TV, biking, and growing hot peppers.

In addition to his loving wife Susan, Joseph is survived by his step-children Michael A. Grackin, Jr. and wife Lenora and Heidi I. Valery and husband Scott; his grandchildren Rebecca, Jonathan, Emily, Leah, Katrina, and Benjamin; and his great-grandchildren Ezra and Eziel. He is also survived by his niece Jennifer Crowder; and his nephew Patrick Neuber. Joseph was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Zumwalt.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00PM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market St., York, PA 17403 with Rev. Dr. J.P. Bohanan officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00PM - 2:00PM on Saturday prior to the service at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Funeral services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to the Men's Clothing Closet of Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
