78, of St Petersburg passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022 after a battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his son, Edward Price. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joanne, sister Dixie Hinkle(Ray) of Pennsylvania, granddaughter Taylor Price, daughter-in-law, Michele Price and niece Samantha Hinkle, step brother-in-law, Pete Garzia (Joanne), step sister-in-law, Maria Mansolino (Ron), step niece, Tina Garzia.
Joe grew up in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania and enjoyed hunting in western Pennsylvania and skiing in the Pocono Mountains. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam war, always emotional about his experiences there and always a strong veteran supporter. He moved to Tampa in 1974 with Joanne and son ,Ed, later moving to St Petersburg where he built a beautiful home. He graduated from University of South Florida and was employed as an editor for the US Geological Survey and later Verizon(GTE) ,retiring after 25 years. Following retirement he established a home inspection business which he so enjoyed helping people especially first time home buyers. Joe was an avid reader ,boater and fisherman and always enjoyed flats fishing in Tamp Bay waters. He loved his dogs especially Deacon and Noah who always accompanied him. Joe was known throughout the neighborhood as friendly and always helpful and enjoyed many good times with dear friends through the years who will always remember him for his stories.

In honor of Joe's wishes , there will be no formal service. Donations in his memory can be made to the Southeastern Guide Dogs Veterans Program established in his name.
