Joseph "Joe" Knott, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was 76. Joe was born on July 8, 1945 in St. Mary's County Maryland.
Growing up Joe was an avid sportsman, playing football and baseball through high school. Upon graduation, Joe joined the Steamfitters Local 602 apprenticeship program and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time Joe enjoyed racing his hot rod at Budd's Creek, golfing at his home course in Swan Point, playing poker with the guys, nature photography, reading his daily newspaper, and riding in the car with his four legged son, Tonka.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Knott, father Joseph E. Knott and stepdaughter Christina Good.
He was a loving husband to his wife Sue Stennett, father to Jill Knott, brother to Bill Knott, sister to Dottie Thomas, and grandfather to Christine, Alex, Dana, Kaitlin, and Nikki.
Internment will be private. A gather to honor the life of Joe will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5-6pm with a Memorial Service at 6PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
