Master Sergeant Joseph C. Harvey, Sr, age 90, of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022. He was born on March 18, 1932 in Augusta, Maine. He was the son of the late Gertrude G. Jackson Lagassie and Leo K. Harvey. He grew up in Augusta, Maine and graduated from Cony High School. Joseph proudly served his country for 35 years as a Member and a Veteran of The United States Marine Corps. "Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful" husband of 55 years to his late wife Ina A. Allen Harvey.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his daughters, Myra Harvey, Lisa (Harvey) Kiel and Martha Harvey and his grandchildren, Kristy Hardy, Amanda (Mandy) Zimmerle, Julia Walls, Heather Harvey, Ryan and Rebecca (Becky) Kiel, and Bruce Hansbrough, Jr. and brother, Alfred Harvey, Jr. Several greatgrandchildren also survive including Kameron Culler (great-greatgrandchild Charlee Hardy-Smathers), Kennedy Hardy, Jesse Tomberlin, Lydia and Quentin Walls, Kamran (Hansbrough) Staub, Brody and Garrett Hansbrough.
The family members will hold a private memorial service and ask that others send donations for Veterans of their choosing if desired in lieu of flowers.
