Joseph "Joe" Augustine Farrall, 86, of Silver Spring, Maryland, formerly of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022 at Heartlands Senior Living Village in Ellicott City, Maryland. He was born on March 20, 1936 in Washington, D.C. to the late Richard Earl "Earl" Farrall, Sr. and Elizabeth Queen "Queenie" Farrall (nee Posey).
Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brothers Richard Earl Farrall, Jr., Dr. James "Jim" Emanuel Farrall and his niece and goddaughter Patricia "Tricia" Teresa Ralston.
He is survived by his sister Patricia "Pat" Farrall Ralston and sister-in-law Kathryn "Kitty Lou" Mudd Farrall and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joe attended elementary school at St. Mary's Bryantown and continued on in Bryantown, graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1954. He spent the majority of his career working for The State of Maryland's Department of Assessments and Taxation in Prince George's County as a commercial and industrial tax assessor and retired in 1997.
In his retirement, he enjoyed reading, cutting his lawn, hunting, cars and spending time with his family, especially around the holidays. Joe's lifelong love of walking provided him much enjoyment. Visiting the family farm, "Bowling Green", in Bryantown was a highlight throughout his life.
A visitation and viewing will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Bryantown Catholic Church,13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, Maryland 20617 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will take place, immediately following the mass, in the church cemetery. A luncheon will be held afterwards at St. Mary's Newport Church Hall in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.
