Joseph Ciervo
Joseph R.Ciervo My father and hero.
My father and hero Joseph R Ciervo, 75 years ago on June 6 1944 you and your band of brothers from the 82nd Airborne jumped into Normandy France to battle the Nazi regime.
You served your country and family valiantly fighting in four European campaigns with both the 82nd and the 29th Infantry. These included DDay, the Battle of the Bulge, and into Germany.
Being seriously wounded in the battle of St. Lo, and once again in Belgium you continued to fight until the wars end.
You received the Purple Heart with a cluster, the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantry Badge, and others.
Being a humble man you chose not to accept the Silver Star claiming your friend deserved it more. To the 4 other Ciervo brothers who to fought and served their country, and Marine Anthony Ciervo who gave the ultimate sacrifice his life for his country.
Dad I miss you and Mom, until we meet again.
Love, Joe
