Joseph Paul Alix, age 65, of Windham, NH, passed away at Highpoint Hospice on October 13. During his final weeks, Joe managed his cancer battle with great faith, grace and courage. His caregivers and visitors at hospice often left his room feeling uplifted due to his contagious, positive attitude.
Joseph is the sixth of thirteen children born to Ernest and Lucette Alix. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he opened an autobody shop at the family business, Ernie's Garage, where he worked for over 40 years. His autobody expertise, his humor, wisdom and kindness endeared him to numerous customers from Windham and surrounding towns.
Over his life, Joseph lovingly raised his daughter Jessica, and unselfishly cared for our parents in their final years. His devotion to his daughter and commitment to our parents were truly his life's proudest accomplishments.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Jessica and her husband Mike Boulerice of Nottingham, his twelve siblings and their spouses, Ernest (Joyce) of Derry, Alfred (Moira) of Windham, Rose (Dave) Rinaldo of San Tan Valley, AZ, Annie (Gerry) St. Jean of Goffstown, Theresa (Glenn) Paradis of Londonderry, Frank (Stephanie) of Newmarket, Albert (Jackie) of Fremont, Mary (Mike) Dahlberg of New Boston, Margaret (Steve) Stuart of Derry, Paul (Marcia) of Londonderry, Cathy (Patrick) St. Ledger of Derry, and Joyce (John) MacDonald of Hampton, and several nieces and nephews.
