
Josefa "Josephine" Feliciana Iguina de Alvarado
Josephine born in Puerto Rico, married Enrique Alvarado. Worked as a seamstress for over 35 years with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local #62 located in Manhattan, New York and she was a member of Foundation Stone Christian Church.
Josephine Alvarado, 95, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at The Alpine House, Toledo. Josephine was born in Puerto Rico on March 19, 1920, to MiquelAngel and Juana (Rosado) Iguina. She married Enrique Alvarado on November 25, 1948, in Manhattan, New York and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2005. Josephine will be greatly missed by her loving family, numerous friends and those who had the pleasure to know her.
Josephine worked as a seamstress for over 35 years with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local #62 located in Manhattan, New York and she was a member of Foundation Stone Christian Church.
She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and spending time with loved ones. She especially loved her cup of coffee and watching her Novelas de Telemundo.
Josephine is survived by her loving children, Myrta I. Gschaar and Enrique Alvarado Jr.; grandchildren, Mayra, Bernadette, Vanessa, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Luis, Cynthia, LeeAnn, Gilbert, Olivia, Erica, Isaiah and Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, MiquelAngel and Juana; sister, Antonia Lugo, and brother, MiguelAngel Iguina.
