Jose Raul Torres, 67, loving husband and father, entered eternal rest with our Lord on February 7, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Ramona Torres of Kingsville, TX. Raul is survived by his wife, Maggie Torres, and his only son, Benjamin Torres. He leaves behind three brothers, Tony Torres (Lupita Torres) of Garland, TX; Tom Torres of Corpus Christi, TX; and Joe Torres (Terri Torres) of Midland, TX; He is also survived by four sisters, Rose Phillips (Wilbur Phillips) of San Antonio, TX; Connie Weir (George Weir) of McKinney, TX; Anna Velazquez (John Velazquez) of Denver, CO; and Margie Perez (Ysidoro Perez) of Edinburg, TX.
Raul had a passion for music that stemmed from his childhood that led to one of his first jobs as a DJ working at KINE radio station. He worked at Tennessee Gas Pipeline for nearly two decades as a communications technician. He then taught Computer Literacy at Brown Middle School in McAllen, TX for 15 years.
As a child he first served the Lord as an altar boy at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Kingsville, TX and continued serving in his adult years in the Knights of Columbus. He shared his Catholic devotion with his wife of 40 years at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and loved being a father to his only son.
Raul's celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00am, followed by a rosary at 9:30am, and a Mass at 10:30am. Burial service will be a private family celebration. For those unable to attend in person, the rosary and Mass will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/XKTY9vHCv2A. Flowers or donations may be sent to Kreidler Funeral Home at 314 N. 10th St. McAllen, TX 78501. The family requests that there will be no reception line and that everyone adheres to the CDC rules of social distancing and mask wearing.

Our family truly cannot thank you enough for all that you did for our husband, father, and brother.
