Jonas Rudy Byler, 88, of Reedsville, PA, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at a daughter's home in Oskaloosa, KS. Mr. Byler was born February 8, 1932 at Reedsville, PA, the son of John Z. and Amelia Yoder Byler. He was a lifelong farmer in Reedsville area. He was a member of the Somerset Mennonite Fellowship, Stoystown, PA. He was married to Olive Dorothy Peachey on February 21, 1957 at Belleville, PA, Mrs. Byler preceded him in death on September 16, 2006. He was also preceded by one grandson, Aaron Beachy, two great-grandsons, Colton Burkholder and Hansel Alturki, a daughter-in-law, Bertha Byler, and one sister, Fannie Hostetler. Mr. Byler is survived by three sons, John (Martha) Byler, Richmond, MO, James (Arlene) Byler, Fredericksburg, MO, Nathan Byler, Paris, TN, six daughters, Martha Jean (Lester) Byler, Eldorado Springs, MO, Ellen (Herman) Miller, Beaver Springs, PA, Verna (Tim) Yoder, Tazewell, VA, Dorothy (Daniel) Wengerd, Greensburg, KY, Judith (Ivan) Beachy, Oskaloosa, KS, Kathryn (Norman) Farmwald, Humboldt, NE, five brothers, Jacob Byler, Timewell, ILL, John Byler, Orville, CA, Ezra Byler, Fincastle, VA, Kore Byler, Shippensburg, PA, Andy Byler, Hillsdale, PA, three sisters, Mattie Martin, Kingston, OH, Sarah Beachy and Phoebe Beachy, both of Liberty, KY, and 56 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. Funeral Visitation and Service was held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Ebenezer Amish Mennonite Church Fellowship in Oskaloosa, KS. Visitation and Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 with Service at 11:30 AM, at Somerset Mennonite Fellowship, Stoystown, PA. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
