Age 43, a resident of El Salto Arroyo Seco, NM passed away unexpectedly April 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Juan Francisco Martinez & Angelina Martinez; paternal grandmother Precides Gallegos; Uncles: Paul Martinez, Richard Valdez, and Michael (Micky) Romero; Aunt: Annette Gallegos; Cousins: Sara Michelle Gonzales, Nikolas Martinez, Younique Gallegos, Jasmine Romero and Thomas Tuski. Johnny had a spiritual heart. He loved life, family, friends and his many pets. He was kind and generous. His muscular disease never deterred him from doing the things he wanted to do. He had a passion for all sports. He was a Raider fan and never missed a football or basketball game. He volunteered for the MDA Telethon for many years. He also put in countless volunteer hours for El Salto del Agua Association. He was most passionate in the fight to save the El Salto Mountain. He is survived by his parents Johnny and Stella Gallegos, aunts and uncles: Becky Duran (Tom), Virginia Valdez (Adelmo), Berlinda Gonzales (James), Moises Martinez (Dolores), Sylvia Martinez, Celeste Valdez, Ruthie Martinez, Billy Vigil, Gerald Gallegos, Wanda (Nick) Romero, Albert (Nat) Gallegos, Laura Gallegos, Roger Gallegos; Cousins: Carla Valdez, Francisco Martinez, Maria Martinez, Christine Valdez (David) Tom Duran (Laura), Angelo Gonzales, Pablo Martinez (Juanita), Maria Luisa Jeantete (Jason), Angelina Valdez, Consuelo Romero, Elena Romero, Alicia Romero, Nicholas Romero, Santana Gallegos, Enrico Gallegos, Blaze Tuski, Daniel Martinez, Arlene Baros and Jessica Baros. Other Special Cousins: (Samantha, Mariah, Serena, Michael, Cyrus and Ashley); (Nicole, Vanessa, Julie, Bentley and Orion); (Alyssa, Isiah and Noah); (Carlos and Diego), Alex Gonzales, and Jason Wardlow. Special Friends: Carla Garcia, Wes Edling, Justin Archuleta, Ollie Collignon, Nick Collignon and Luke Reyna. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:30am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.
