Mr. Johnny Eugene Crook, 69, of Warrenville, SC, beloved husband of forty-nine years to Sarah Wisham Crook, entered into rest on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
Born in Wilkes County, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1973, he was a son of the late Bennie Lee and Carrie Blanche Franklin Crook. He began his employment with Kimberly-Clark forty-nine years ago and was currently serving as Fire Chief. A dedicated public servant, he was formerly the Chief of the Langley Volunteer Fire Department. Johnny was a member of the Langley United Methodist Church and the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174, A.F.M. He enjoyed camping, fishing and motorcycles. More than anything however, he enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, Jessica Matthews, Kaylee Turner, Carly Chavis and Nolan Green.
In addition to his wife, parents and grandchildren, family members include his children and their spouses, Karen and Kevin Matthews, Gloverville, SC, Miranda and Phillip Turner, Aiken, SC and Amanda and Steven Green, Warrenville, SC and a brother, the late Ricky Lee Crook.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 5 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11 o'clock at the Langley United Methodist Church, Langley, SC. Pastor Graham Bennett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Phillip Turner, Steven Green, Kevin Matthews, Nolan Green, Brandon Hodson, Nick Evans, Joey Hall and Jordan Burckhalter. Honorary Pallbearers will be area Firefighters. Interment with Masonic Rites accorded by the brethren of Horse Creek Masonic Lodge, #174, will follow in the Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC.
