Johnny Jacob (Jay) Byrd III - age 58 of Blaine was welcomed into his eternal heavenly home on June 10, 2022. Born to his earthly parents on October 16, 1963. He was born again during his youth at Lea Springs Baptist Church. He was a current member of God's Little Mission Baptist Church and took great pride in serving the Lord there. He loved his children and family deeply. He worked at Blue Water Industries - Midway Quarry for 25 years and was one of their hardest working and faithful employees. He loved raising cattle and all things farming. He proudly served his country in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division.
Jay is preceded in death by grandparents - Johnny & Carlie Byrd, Troy & Grace Hurst; and uncles - Larry Hurst, Clarence (Bubby) Smith.
He is survived by his daughter - Kasey (Nathan) Byrd; son - Johnny Jacob (Jake) Byrd IV and their mother Cindy Byrd; grandson - Nathan Jase Strickland; mother & father - Johnny II & Carolyn Byrd; brothers - Keith (Cristal) Byrd, Jimmy (Amy) Byrd; sister - Kelly (Tony) Hurst; nephews - Toby (Raylin) Hurst, Tiger Hurst; and nieces - Alison Byrd, Alexus Lowe.
The family received friends 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, June 13, 2022 at Bridges Funeral Home, followed by service at 7:00 pm with Reverend Thurman Dyke officiating and singers - God's Little Mission Choir. Family and friends met the following day at Lea Springs Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:45 pm for a 2:00 pm graveside service with military honors, Reverend Thurman Dyke officiating. Pallbearers - Keith Byrd, Jimmy Byrd, Tony Hurst, Toby Hurst, Tiger Hurst, Tony Williams, Mark Ray. Honorary Pallbearers - Gordon Grizzle, Scott Lawson, Randy Myers, Mike Evans, The Men of God's Little Mission Baptist Church
