Johnny Mark Arnold
Help us celebrate Johnny! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Johnny.
Johnny Mark Arnold, 71, of Midland, Texas left for his last journey on January 19, 2024. Johnny was born in Odessa, Texas on July 31, 1952 to KP Arnold and Louise Arnold Queen. Johnny was raised and rooted in Odessa, but later moved to Midland to care for his late mother. He had a long career in the oilfield, but his passion could be found standing around a pool table in whichever State he was visiting that month. He was masterful at the game of pool, but he had other talents as well. He loved the challenge behind a fishing pole, golf club or rifle. He was a man that believed in, "living life to the fullest" and laughter. He could invent a "good time" when no one else saw it coming. Through his witty banter and crooked smile, he most certainly could make you laugh and lose sight of any hardships that day. He was blessed with an abundance of friends, with whom he mostly called family. He loved the outdoors, get-togethers, barbecuing and engaging in great conversation. He especially loved his family time with his children and grandchildren.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents KP Arnold and Louise Arnold Queen, his brother Jimmy Arnold, brother-in-law Steven Carter and the love of his life, Sherry Hopkins Arnold. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister Judy Carter, of Midland, Texas, daughter Brandy Douthit and husband Ross Douthit of Odessa, Texas, son Markus Arnold of Midland, Texas, grandson Chandler Arnold of Odessa, Texas, grandson Tex Arnold of Lindale, Texas, granddaughter Lilly Smutz of Lindale, Texas, great grandson Casher Arnold of Odessa, Texas, nephew Sean Carter of Midland, Texas, niece Shalon Robinson, husband Mark Robinson, great-nephew Chance Robinson and great niece Natalie Robinson of Cleburne, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter in his honor. His love of animals (dogs) was unprecedented.
A small celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to acknowledge a few of his great friends; Hal Thompson, Bob Smith, Sammy Goff and all of his friends at The Field Office and Detour. He loved each of you and we're grateful for the "light" you brought to his life.
Arrangements were made with Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel. Family messages and condolences may be emailed to: [email protected] or you can visit our website at www.lewallengarciapipkinfh.com
