John Joseph Zawacki

John Joseph Zawacki, 56 years of age, left this earth on January 8, 1977. He was diagnosed with leukemia just 24 hours before he succumb to the disease. The leukemia was secondary to a stroke that he experienced when leaving work, Bethlehem Steel on Key Highway, on Easter Monday in 1974. The stroke left him partially paralyzed on the left side and he was never able to return to his job. He was married to Sophia Balakier on January 18, 1942 at Holy Rosary Church in Baltimore.
