John VorisAug 15, 1936 - July 19, 2022John Grier Voris of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, July 19th. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan (nee Syler) and his daughters, Cherie Dalton (Mark) and Liza Voris. He was deeply loved by his family and many friends.John was born on August 15, 1936 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He grew up in Hyde Park, NY where he met his best friend and wife Joan in the first grade. He graduated from Union College in 1961 and had an extremely successful and rewarding career with IBM. After retirement, they moved to Brookfield where he became an active member of the Brookfield Police Commission and a trustee of the Brookfield Library for 20+ years.
