John E. Trevathan, Sr., 94, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 5, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas, to parents, Vernon D. Trevathan and Anice Powell Trevathan.
John was an Alumni of Rice University and the President of Alamo Group (NYSE) for 17 years. He was the owner of Ventura Manufacturing in San Antonio. John was a financial planner and Trust Specialist for A.G. Edwards, then Merrill Lynch until retirement in 2006. He was also an amateur trap shooter (State veteran handicap champion 2004), an avid photographer and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. He was a life member of the San Antonio Gun Club and NRA. John was proud to be a Marine Corp Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Herbert Doyle Trevathan. John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anne Trevathan; son, John E. Trevathan, Jr. CPA of Sugar Land, Texas; daughters, Jan Saird of Ft. Worth, Texas, Judy White of Gladewater, Texas and Jennifer Bailey of Aurora, Colorado; sisters, Verna Hayes of San Antonio, Texas and Clara Bodhaine of Houston, Texas.
