John Michael Teat, 62, of Gunter, Texas, passed away on May 26th, 2021. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 1, 1958. John graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at University of Colorado Boulder and received a B.S. in Business/Marketing and Public Administration at University of Texas of Dallas. He married Carol Adair Teat on December 22nd, 1979 and they have celebrated 41 amazing years together.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Adair Teat, mother Mary Margaret Teat, son Jason Michael Teat daughter in law Megan Anderton Teat, daughter Cristen Breana Teat, and son Austin Brooks Teat, and grandchildren Madeleine, Emma, and Jocelyn.
John lived for taking his family on ski trips to Colorado, beach vacations to the Bahamas, and frequent adventures to Disney. His second home and goal retirement was to have a beach house in the Bahamas alongside wife Carol where they would have lived in swimsuits and drank from coconuts. He loved the life he created in Gunter alongside Carol, where they built and maintained their life long dreams of having a ranch.
He had a love for collecting Petrofina and vintage cars. He loved hunting for rare finds, the life long friends he made in the process, and the things he learned in restoration of his vehicles, specifically his corvette.
John had a career as Chief Franchise Financing Officer at Primrose School Franchising Company where he had a passion for supporting, guiding, and growing the Primrose School mission of supporting families across the country in gaining access to the best education for young children and also supported business owners and entrepreneurs in growing their companies.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 4th at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas.
