John Thomas Dillon, 78, passed away gently Sunday January 12, 2020 at Boulder Park Terrace In Charlevoix. We are grieving his loss here on earth and celebrating his arrival in heaven.
John was born November 21, 1941 in Roseville Michigan and was the second child of Elva and Glenn Dillon. He graduated from Ellsworth High School and went on to be certified in welding and fabricating which he used at his work of over 20 years as a tool and die maker. Tom worked as much as he could at the American Mold often taking extra shifts. In addition, he had his own excavating company and bought and sold real estate throughout his life. He was a hard worker and providing for his family meant everything to him.
Tom was full of joy, light and love and made all those who knew him laugh and smile. He was full of Dad jokes and the very best wisdom for this life. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time on the property he bought and lived on for 53 years. He loved working on and fixing old cars and could tell you the make and model of just about any car made prior to 1979. He loved to play music and played guitar and banjo. He loved dancing and playing pool and cribbage with family and friends. Most of all he loved his family and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Holloway, his father, Glenn Dillon, his sister, Patricia Niedzialkowski, His sons Delbert and Donald Dillon, his daughter Alice Dillon and a host of friends and extended family. He is survived by his daughters Katherine Dillon and Christine Dillon. His grandchildren Isabella Lennon, Sadie Lennon and Zane Greene.
