John R. Spice, age 93, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 4:16 p.m., on Friday, July 2, 2021, surrounded by his family at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born in Linton on February 10, 1928, the son of Jack & Mary Gwendolyn (Jones) Spice.
He was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church and Linton F & AM Lodge #560
He is survived by nephew, Brad (Susan) Spice of Avon, and several great nieces and nephews and 10 great, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donald (Phyllis) Spice, sister, Phyllis Ann Spice, a niece, Susan Kay Spice-Thimlar, and a great nephew Paul Mitchell.
Funeral and Masonic service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday July 12, 2021 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton with Rev. Ben Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, with military graveside rites conducted by the Linton American Legion Post #22.
Visitation will be held at on Monday July 12, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
