Falling Waters, WV - John Mark Shambarger, 81, of Falling Waters, WV and formerly of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
He was born on January 15, 1941 in Jay County, Indiana to the late John Connell and Harriett Eleanor Meehan Shambarger.
John was a 1959 graduate of Redkey High School in Redkey, Indiana. He received his AA Degree from Montgomery College in Maryland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a Chaplain in the Army.
John owned and partnered Allentown Press in Camp Springs, MD for many years.
John and his wife Marcia were involved with "The Navigators" A Christian Disciple Organization. They attended Faith Christian Fellowship in Williamsport, MD for the last 10 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years Marcia Lynne (Hyllestad) Shambarger; daughter Wendy Macie and her husband Andrew of Forest Hill, MD; daughter Lisa Harris of Falling Waters, WV; son Johnathan Shambarger and fiancee' Megan Wharton of Annapolis, MD; sister Beth Shambarger of Florida; sister Sara Lee Shambarger and her husband George Barfield of Spring Lake, Michigan; grandchildren Caleb and his wife Meredith, Nathan, David, Luke, Jana, Halle, Maureen "Momo", Allison, Madison, and Cooper.
He was predeceased by his son in law Edward "Eddie" Harris.
A celebration of life will be held at Faith Christian Fellowship 16726 Lappans Rd. Williamsport, MD on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Gordon McDaniel officiating.
