John A. Selwitschka, Sr, at the age of 80, left this earth to be with his Father, Savior, and friend Jesus Christ. He will also see his wife Carol of 49 years, his second wife, Rolande and his parents, William and Daisy Selwitschka. Preceded in death was his brother Jack Selwitschka, and sisters Julia Griswold and Ruth Dickson along with brothers in law and sisters in law. John was a proud Police Officer of the Oshkosh Police Department after serving in the Air Force. He moved to Rosendale to be a Police Officer which was his most rewarding job while working at Mercury Marine. He eventually retired from the greater Chicago area after a successful career managing a few different die cast plants.
John's children, John (Grace) Selwitschka Jr, Eric (Laura) Selwitschka, Carol Ann Selwitschka, and Cindy (Jeff) Batterman will miss his talks about Jesus. His brothers and sisters, Bill (June) Selwitschka, Donna (Jack) Calkins, Francis Mondl, Helen Selwitschka, Jim (Judy) Selwitschka, Jerry (Debbie) Selwitschka, grandchildren Julie, Jeffrey, Mickey, Sean, Dylan, Chelsey and Jake. Great grandchildren: Tiffany, Joey, Zach and great great grandchild Isabelle will also miss John and his loving visits.
At this time there will be a delayed service for visitation and burial until later this year due to COVID. Memorials can be made or sent to Team Blue Line, Oshkosh Police Department in conjunction with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
