John Rogalewski, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1930 in Rozental, Poland to his parents, Franciszek and Franciszka Rogalewski.
After leaving Poland at a young age, he spent the next few years serving on the MS Sobiecki which landed him in the United States. He eventually immigrated to New Britain where he met his wife, Helena, and started his family. While in New Britain, he found community within the Polish Falcons of America and developed lifelong friendships with fellow members. He took great pride in his membership, reaching the status of Gold Legion of Honor, the highest level of service to the organization.
After years of dedicated service, John retired in 1960 from New Britain Machine and spent his retirement enjoying family trips to the beach, Falcon picnics and rooting for the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball.
John is survived by his son, John Rogalewski and wife Elizabeth, daughter Jadzia "Hedi" Rogalewski, his grandchildren Johanna Gagnon (Peter), Victoria DiScipio (Tom), Johnny Rogalewski (Carla), great-grandchildren Jack, Ella and Sophie and niece Tina (Stan and daughter Ala) in Canada, and family in Poland. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Helen.
On behalf of John's family, a heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses and caregivers who helped him live out his days with peaceful comfort and dignity.
