John Reid Murphy, 63, of Woodbridge, Virginia passed away on January 31, 2022.
John was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia to John Francis Murphy and Brenda Reid Murphy on May 3, 1958. He graduated from Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. He attended The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C., as civil engineer and managed dam safety projects nationwide. He served on various credit union boards and worked with the Prince William County Planning Commission. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and was active in the Silver Foxes senior group. John was devoted to his mother, Brenda, and spent the last years of his life lovingly caring for her.
John is preceded in death by his father, John Francis Murphy.
The family wishes to thank Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge, Virginia and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia for a lifetime of support.
John is survived by his mother Brenda Reid Murphy of Woodbridge, Virginia, his sister Claudia Murphy Miller of Fairfax, Virginia, and his nieces Winnie Miller Vernon and Alissa Miller both of San Francisco, California.
