John Lee Redmond, Jr., age 77 of Lenoir City entered his Heavenly home on February 17, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. John was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a member of Highland Park Ruritan Club. He was also a Mason and a member of Highland Park Alumni Association. John was a 50 year member of IBEW Local 760. He was retired from ALCOA after 39 years of service. John was a 1962 graduate of Lenoir City High School. As a proud Panther, he played football and baseball. John also was a boxer with the Golden Gloves Association. John earned a football scholarship to Clemson University in South Carolina. He was well known throughout Loudon County as a generous man, especially for sharing from his garden. Everyone loved his okra. Most of all, John was devoted to his family and passionate about supporting his daughter and grandsons in all of their life events, along with all of his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Lee Redmond Sr. and Inez Perkey Redmond; brothers, Bill Redmond and Tom Redmond. Survived by his wife and caregiver, Susan Bartless Redmond; daughter, Whitney Hamilton (Andy); step daughter, Tracy Armstrong; grandsons, Lucas Hamilton (Cheyenne) and Matthew Hamilton; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Catherine Redmond; special friend, William Beal; special neighbors, Matt, Jessica, Palmer and Paxton Morris; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Highland Park Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Click officiating.
